Executive Board Meeting

In-House Program Promotion

  • A new flyer needs to be created promoting the “In-House” program. They will be placed at the Chaska Community Center and we will decide at our next scheduled meeting if we are going to distribute these flyers at District 112 schools. In addition, registrations will be encouraged through the association’s website. Residents, who don’t have access to the internet, will be able to register online on at the Chaska Community Center’s computers.
  • 1st - 2nd grades will play from October – December. In an effort to minimize the amount of time needed to make phone calls, the teams and coaches will be posted on the CAYBBA website after September 15th.
  • 3rd grade will play from January - March.
  • 4th – 8th grade evaluations will start in late October. Coaches and CAYBBA staff members will assist and man evaluation stations. In-house evaluations will need to find a model for required skill sets.
  • Team selections (draft) will remain the same as last year.
  • Player fees for the 2007-08 season will remain the same as last year’s fee. 1-3 $60.00 & 4-8 $110.00.
  • Ray Wolf will coordinate the referees for next year’s season. We also discussed the feasibility of pairing up senior and junior referees.
  • CAYBBA will provide 3 basketballs per team.
  • Gym Space

  • CAYBBA will not know how much gym space is needed until we move closer to the start of the season.
  • Total cost for gym space for the 2006-07 season was $31,000.00.
  • Metro

  • Fees for the 2007-08 season will not increase. Total cost per player will be $395.00.
  • Boys’ tryouts will be held in late September. The Chaska High School varsity staff will conduct the tryouts. Selections will be based on the varsity staff evaluations.
  • Coach selection will be held after teams are formed. All interested candidates will be interviewed.
  • Girls’ tryouts will be held in late September. CAYBBA President Goetz reported that he had introductory conversations with the Chaska High girls’ varsity staff. Assistant Coaches Tara Seifert and Rachel Bostrock both have an interest in conducting the metro girls tryouts. Evaluations and selections will be modeled after boys tryouts.
  • A motion was made and seconded to have Assistant Coaches Tara Seifert and Rachel Bostrock conduct the girls tryouts for the 2007-08 season. Motion Passed.
  • There was discussion about how to reach a broader audience of parents that might be interested in coaching on metro teams but don’t have children participating.
